Apartment Building Fire Forces Residents To Evacuate In San Mateo County

Firefighter closed the road as they attempted to extinguish the flames.

BELMONT, CA — Firefighters evacuated residents and shutdown a road in Belmont Tuesday to put out a fire at an apartment building.

Just after midnight on Tuesday, the Belmont Police Department sent out an alert that there was a structure fire on the 500 block of Ralston Avenue.

Police said they closed Ralston Avenue while firefighters attempted to extinguish flames of a fire that had been contained to two units.

All occupants of the building were evacuated and no injuries were reported.

No other structures in the area were at risk, police said.
