There were 4,430 PG&E customers in Belmont briefly affected by a power outage this afternoon, a utility spokesman said.

The outage was reported at 2:08 p.m. By 2:35 p.m. all but 795 customers had power restored, PG&E spokesman Jason King said.

At 3:29 p.m. all customers had power back, King said.

The outage was caused by equipment failure on an overhead line at Old County Road just south of Mountain View Avenue, King said.
