Burglars Slam Stolen Car Through Peninsula Store, Steal ATM: Cops
Police say the thieves stole an ATM from a local Walgreens store after smashing inside.
SAN MATEO, CA — Thieves used a stolen car to smash into a Walgreens pharmacy in San Mateo in order to gain access to an ATM that they hauled off, the San Mateo Police Department reports.
The incident happened around 3:52 a.m. Wednesday at the store located in the 190 block of E. Third Avenue, according to police. Authorities were alerted to the break-in via a burglary alarm.
"Officers discovered Walgreens’ front doors were crashed into by a stolen car and the ATM was taken," police said in a news release. "The stolen car and ATM were recovered near Walgreens by officers."

Police did not say if the burglars were able to get any cash out of the ATM.
No arrest has been made in the case and police have not released any suspect information.
