Changing of Belmont Guard Scheduled for December 10

Outgoing councilmembers Coralin Feierbach and Dave Warden will be honored for their service at the Dec. 10 meeting.

The three Belmont men elected last night to serve the city as councilmembers for the next four years, will take the official oath of office on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at a special reorganizational meeting of the Belmont City Council.

Warren Lieberman, Charles Stone and Eric Reed will join David Braunstein and Christine Wozinak on the five-person council. Lieberman was elected to his third term last Tuesday; Stone and Reed are new to the council.

Also at the meeting, outgoing councilmembers Dave Warden and Coralin Feierbach will be recognized for their years of service. Warden was elected to the Mid-Peninsula Water District board of trustees last week.

Following the swearing in, the council will have a reorganization, in which Christine Wozniak will step down as mayor, and a vote will be taken to determine who will serve as the city's next mayor and vice-mayor.

Historically, the vice-mayor is voted in as mayor, meaning Warren Lieberman, the current vice-mayor, will most likely become the city's new leader.

A reception will follow the ceremony. The public is invited to attend the ceremony and the reception, which will take place in the Belmont Council Chambers on the second floor of Belmont City Hall, One Twin Pines Lane.
