Citywide Root Foaming Starts Monday
Yet another good reason to tune into Belmont Patch---where else would you learn what root foaming is?
Just like you need to keep your home's water pipes clear and flowing properly, so must the City of Belmont--on a slightly larger scale. So in an effort to keep the 40,000 feet of sanitary sewer mains sanitary, the city's Public Works Department will be root foaming this week.
According to a notice by the Public Works Dept., root control is an important element of an effective overall strategy to maintain sewer systems.
Root foaming is a chemical foam mixture applied to pipes after mechanic root removal to prohibit future plant intrusion and reinforce pipes.
A city contractor, Dukes Root Foaming will notify residents if they need access to an easement on their property. If residents have any questions, they may contact the Public Works Department at (650) 595-7425.
