Fire at Belmont Plastics Company Contained to Dumpster
Although next to a structure, the fire officials were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

Belmont firefighters extinguished a fire in the Dumpster of a plastics manufacturing company on Old County Road Wednesday evening, according to Capt. Pat Halleran of the Belmont Police Dept.
Fire and police officials received a call of a possible structure fire in the 1300 block of Old County Road at about 6:35 p.m. Wednesday. Smoke from the fire was visible from several blocks away.
Although the Dumpster was next to a structure, firefighters were able to confine the fire to the dumpster and extinguish it.

Halleran said Belmont firefighters were assisted by units from the San Mateo, Foster City and San Carlos Fire departments.
Old County Road was closed between Harbor Boulevard and O’Neill Avenue for about 40 minutes during the incident. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
