How to Follow Belmont All-Stars on ESPN3
Six teams, including the Belmont Redwood Shores 11/12-Year-Old All-Stars, will compete in the 2013 West Tournament starting Friday. Winner goes to the Little League World Series.
So far every tournament-ending game the Belmont Redwood Shores Little League All-Stars have played in, has ended in dramatic fashion:
- Coming from behind to claim the District 52 championship in Belmont;
- Overcoming sweltering heat and tough opponents to win the Divisional championship in Rosedale;
- And finally needing to beat Santa Cruz TWICE to take the Northern California Division title.
Players and coaches departed for SoCal Wednesday morning following a rally and last-minute fundraiser at Jamba Juice in Redwood Shores.
The winner of the West Tournament goes on to play in the Little League World Series. How's THAT for a summer vacation?
And talk about drama---BRS parent Debbie Anderson explained how it works getting to "the big show" in Williamsport.
"The winner---the boys and the coaches--will be flown by Little League directly to directly from San Bernadino to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA," said Anderson.
Belmont resident and BRSLL fan Steve Hayes has been following the team's progression through tournament play and explained how the West Tournament works: (All games will be broadcast live on ESPN3)
