BELMONT, CA — The northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 101 reopened Thursday in Belmont after having been closed at 3:17 a.m. following a fatal, multi-vehicle collision just south of the Ralston Avenue interchange, the California Highway Patrol said.

The CHP responded to a 2:59 a.m. call about the collision and by 3:15 a.m., had closed both the eastbound and westbound on-ramps at Ralston Avenue and was diverting all northbound traffic off the highway at Ralston.

As of 9 a.m., the northbound lanes were reopened, according to the CHP.
