Senior Center Gets a Facelift

The much-utilized center has not had an upgrade since it opened in 1987.

Work began last week on the makeover for the Twin Pines Senior & Community Center. So-long to the pale pink and blue exterior---before long, the center will be look stunning in its new colors: cream and russet.

Improvements to the center are funded in part by a donation from the estate of William Pearce. Pearce, a Belmont resident and frequent visitor to the center, generously left a portion of his estate to be used for improvements to the center upon his death.

City staff members have been working on a project to update the facility, which is 25 years old and has not been painted or upgraded since it opened in 1987.

In addition to paint, planned improvements include new carpet and new lobby and game room furniture.
