Teen Injured When Scooter Hit By Driver In Belmont

Police said the 16-year-old boy suffered serious injuries but was expected to survive.

BELMONT, CA — A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured Monday in Belmont when he was hit by a car while crossing the street, according to police.

Officials said the boy was crossing Ralston at Notre Dame when he was hit by a vehicle headed westbound. According to police, the boy was hospitalized with serious injuries but was expected to survive.

The driver, identified as an 85-year-old San Carlos man, was cited at the scene, but police said neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to play a role in the crash.
