ABC Boss at Tonight's Shore Residents' Meeting
At the 6 p.m. Bayshore Library gathering, official for state licensing takes your questions, concerns.
The monthly Belmont Shore Residents Association meeting tonight will feature a guest speaker surely to attract an audience over the oft-contentious issue of how alcohol sales licenses are issued and policed on 2nd Street and elsewhere.
Mr. Vincent Cravens, District Administrator of the California
Alcoholic Beverage Control, will speak at the meeting that starts at 6 p.m. in the Bayshore Library at 2nd Street and Bayshore Avenue. Street parking is available on Bayshore and surrounding streets and limited slant parking is available on the west side of the library, where a meeting room will hold the gathering, BSRA officers said in their monthly newsletter to residents.
"Mr. Cravens will discuss the ABC licensing process, alcohol license
conditions, and enforcement practices. He will answer questions from the
audience," said the newsletter.
All residents of Belmont Shore are invited to attend the BSRA's monthly
meetings held the second Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at the Bay
Shore Library, 195 Bay Shore Avenue. Â The BSRA represents hundreds of homeowners and renters in the Belmont Shore area.

Alcohol sales and licensing to restaurants and bars has been a recurring dispute over the past several years, and some tension has resulted at times with some members of the Belmont Shore Business Assn., which represents property owners on 2nd Street that include numerous dining and drinking establishments. Some residents express no concerns while others complain of drunks, excess noise and property damage resulting from what they say is an increase in patrons.
