Fonzie on the 'Zen of Fly Fishing'

Actor and angler Henry Winkler tells Patch fishing columnist about his new book, 'I've Never Met an Idiot on the River," and his idea of the world's best fly fishing spot.

Patch Fishing Columnist Philip Friedman chose the holiday season to talk with a favorite actor: this week he interviewed the star still best known for portraying Fonzie, the 1950s TV version of a lovable bad boy on 'Happy  Days.'  But the actor has performed numerous other roles. One perhaps less known is that of fisherman. Friedman remarked to Winkler that "No matter how high you climbed up this business in Hollywood .... you are a very down-to-earth person." To which Winkler credited being a father:  "Children will ground you like an anchor." He also shared an anecdote about a time his then-young son ate a Snicker's bar and, zooming on a sugar-chocolate high, burst forth with a full rendition of "Les Miserable."  Oh, and Winkler gets seasick. This and more on the YouTube.
