Blue Line Woes Delaying Long Beach Passengers

Electrical problems are causing snafus for riders urged to consider alternative travel.

Trains along the Blue Line are serving all stations, but Metro officials are warning of ``significant delays'' for the rest of the day because of electrical issues.

Metro spokeswoman Gayle Anderson says trains in both directions are sharing the northbound track at the Florence, Slauson and Vernon stations. Bus shuttles are being provided for passengers on trains that have to turn around.

Twenty bus shuttles are ready for the Washington and Florence stations to supplement limited train capacity, she says. Blue Line passengers between the Long Beach and Imperial and Wilmington stations are being urged to consider using the Silver Line as an alternative. For real-time train times, click here.
