Come Fly With Me
Belmont Shore-Naples Patch editors chillax mid-air, prompting the question: Would it work here?
We at Belmont Shore-Naples Patch like to think we always soar in covering what readers care about. How to help Second Street, Fourth Street, Broadway businesses thrive is a shared local concern. So I thought about that a few days ago, when myself and several other Patch editors took flight in a fantastically fun attraction, IFly.
After you watch this few seconds, ask yourself where Belmont Shore or Long Beach could find a spot for this type of a destination business. (We have no product endorsement; there is such a place in Perris, too).
Weeks in advance, Patch had to reserve a weekday time-slot in order to ensure we could each take flight. Our goal: find a unique destination that anchored other activities for non-fliers in the same spot. We ate and drank before and after, then bought chotchkes at souvenier shops. Our far-flung Patch editors met up from distant Banning and Hemet to Glendora, Cerritos and Belmont Shore, by car and train, spending a better part of a day. The Metro drops you at the base of Universal so many of our people took mass transit there.
