Update: Man Fatally Shot at Long Beach Motel
Police release more details about the motel murder on Seventh Street.

Updated 4:40 p.m. Saturday with the following press statement by Long Beach Police Department about the Friday night fatal shootingn of a man at a Long Beach motel:
Police responded to the scene and discovered that a 38-year-old male subject from Long Beach had been shot in the upper torso.  He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased shortly after arriving.
 The preliminary investigation indicates that several subjects were inside a motel room when some type of confrontation took place between the group, which resulted in the male subject being shot.

Detectives are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances and motive for the shooting. Â

A man was fatally shot in a Long Beach motel room and police took someone into custody late Friday night, police said.
The shooting occurred in the 1000 block of East Seventh Street, and was reported at 8:20 p.m. Friday, Long Beach police spokeswoman Nancy Pratt said.
The mortally wounded man was declared dead at a hospital, she said. His name was not released.
