Officer-Involved Shooting Reported along Border with Signal Hill

Not many details are available, but no officers were hurt and sheriff's homicide detectives are on scene.

An officer-involved shooting involving Signal Hill police near the border between that city and Long Beach today left a woman wounded, authorities said.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting, which was reported about 8:15 a.m. in the 1800 block of Cherry Avenue, were not immediately released.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the unidentified woman was taken to a hospital in unknown condition. No officers were injured.
