Video Released by LBPD about Medicinal Pot Murder Case
Long Beach detectives are seeking a person of interest that they believe is pictured in this video, released to the media in hopes of solving a young man's murder.
Police investigating the March, 2011 shooting death of a suspected marijuana distributor found in a Long Beach alley released a surveillance video showing what they said may be a suspect leaving a convenience store in a Toyota 4Runner.
A receipt for a purchase made at the store, located in the Los Angeles/Beverly Hills-adjacent area, was found inside the victim's residence, according to police. The man behind the wheel of the black, four-door SUV was wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants, and the video was recorded on the same day -- March 24 -- that the body of 29-year-old Philip Victor Williamson of Los Angeles was found dead in an alley near the 1500 block of Pine Avenue.
Police have said they believe Williamson earned a living by delivering cannibis grown in Northern California to medical marijuana dispensaries in Southern California, although they have not identified any particular locations. Williamson, formerly from Chico, may have been in or around Chico sometime  before his murder, and Long Beach police detectives went there to personally hand out fliers in their piecing together what happened to him.
