Police Blotter: Distraction Burglary in Brentwood Village

Distraction burglary: Purse stolen in Brentwood Village
On Sept. 2 at a business in the 100 block of Barrington Place, unknown suspect(s) distracted a woman and removed her purse from the rear of a business, a total loss of $5,362, according to Los Angeles police.
Stolen copper wire from DWP electrical box
On Sept. 2 in the 200 block of Bundy Drive, unknown suspects removed 500 feet of copper wire from a Department of Water and Power electrical box. The copper wire was valued at $2,000.

Stolen bicycles
- Between Sept. 1 and Sept. 5 in the 11900 block of Goshen Avenue, unknown suspect(s) removed two unsecured bicycles valued at $1,700 total. Police say the victim found the bikes for sale on Craigslist.
- On Sept. 3 at a business in the 12400 block of Wilshire Boulevard, unknown suspect(s) cut a lock and took a bicycle valued at $540.
- Between 8 and 8:50 p.m. in the 11700 block of Darlington Avenue, a 2002 KTM motorcycle was stolen from a carport.
- Between 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6 and 12:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at the intersection of Goshen and Westgate, a 2002 Ford Mustang was stolen from the street.
- Between 6 and 10 p.m. in the 11700 block of Kiowa Avenue, a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle was stolen from a garage.
Between 10:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the 800 block of Teakwood Road, suspect(s) smashed a rear window to a home and removed jewelry and electronics.
Burglaries from vehicles
- Between 4 and 6 p.m. Sept. 2 in the 4000 block of Mandeville Canyon Road, a purse was stolen from a vehicle parked on a hiking trail.
- Between 4 and 6 p.m. Sept. 3 in the 11900 block of Kiowa Avenue, tools were taken from a vehicle parked on the street.
- At approximately 11 a.m. Sept. 4 in the 11900 block of San Vicente Boulevard, a purse was stolen from a vehicle parked in a parking lot.
- Between 10:40 and 11:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of Hanley Avenue, cash, purse and a ring were stolen from a vehicle parked on the street.
