Brentwood Police Blotter: Store Clerk Chases Theft Suspect on Wilshire

Store clerk chases, injures theft suspect
On July 16, time unknown, a suspect entered a business in the 12000 block of Wilshire Boulevard, took an item off the shelf and exited without paying, according to Los Angeles police. An employee followed the suspect out of the store and a struggle ensued. The employee refused a private persons arrest due to the suspect receiving stolen injury and needing hospitalization for a pre-existing medical condition. A blue tooth device valued at $99 was recovered.
Stolen VW van
Between 7:30 and 11:30 a.m. July 21 in the 11300 block of Farlin Street, a 1966 Volkswagon van was stolen from the street.
Burglaries
- Between July 2 and July 11 in the 400 block of Robinwood Drive, unknown suspects pried open a side window to a home and removed jewelry.
- Between July 10 and July 11 in the 700 block of Moreno Drive, unknown suspects pried open a rear window and ransacked a home. The loss, if any, is unknown.
- Between 11:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 21 in the 12400 block of Sunset Boulevard, suspects entered a home via an unlocked back door and took film tape. The suspects are believed to be known by the victim as former business partners. Other valuable property was not touched, police say.
- Between June 27 and July 19 in the 12200 block of Dorothy Street, suspects entered a home via an unlocked rear window and removed jewelry.
- Between July 19 and July 22 in the 11600 block of San Vicente Boulevard, unknown suspects pried open a business front door and removed computers.
- Between 10 p.m. July 11 and 2 a.m. July 12 in the 11900 block of San Vicente Boulevard, a purse was stolen from a vehicle parked in a commercial parking lot.
- Between 6 p.m. July 13 and 6 a.m. July 14 in the 12900 block of Benvenue Avenue, an airbag and headlights from a 2008 BMW were stolen.
- Between 8 p.m. July 16 and 8:30 a.m. July 17 in the 700 block of Barrington Avenue, an iPhone and wallet were stolen from a vehicle parked in a carport.
- Between 10 p.m. July 16 and 6 a.m. July 17 in the 900 block of Westgate Avenue, a work bag was stolen from a vehicle parked in a car port.
- Between 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. July 20 at the intersection of Gorham and Wellesley avenues, unknown parts to a vehicle were stolen from a vehicle parked in the street.
- Between 1:10 and 1:15 p.m. in 700 block of Gretna Green Way, a wallet a purse were stolen from a vehicle parked in the street.
- On July 9 in the 1100 block of Amherst Avenue, unknown suspects cut locks and took a bicycle from a residence valued at $325.
- Between 12 and 9 p.m. July 23 in the 12200 block of Wilshire Boulevard, unknown suspects took a bicycle from a building parking lot. Value is unknown.
- On July 24 in the 11700 block of San Vicente Boulevard, an unknown suspect removed a wallet from a victim's purse while she was shopping.
