LOS ANGELES, CA — A fire burned through the roof of a large home in Bel-Air Thursday, but firefighters managed to contain the blaze to a portion of the residence and water drops helped keep it from spreading to brush and neighboring homes.
The fire was reported about 4:35 p.m. in the 11500 block of Thurston Circle, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Structural integrity was compromised in the burned portion of the home, where damage was heavy, but much of the residence was saved, Stewart said.

A search was conducted, but no one was found inside the home, she said.
A total of 73 firefighters responded to the scene and the fire was extinguished in 80 minutes, Stewart said.
