Mike Bonin Trims Trees in Brentwood, West L.A.
City councilman helps Bureau of Street Services respond to service emergency requests for downed branches in the northern part of his district.
Entering his second week as city councilman for the 11th District, Mike Bonin joined a tree-trimming crew in Brentwood and West Los Angeles on Monday morning to help address emergency service requests.
There were many downed branches over the long Fourth of July holiday weekend, and a chunk of Tuesday's work took place on Kiowa and Barrington avenues in Brentwood.
Bonin met with the Bureau of Street Service’s Urban Forestry Division Monday morning to go over the log of calls made to 3-1-1 over the weekend and to observe how service deployment is prioritized.
“I started my first day as a councilmember working in the district because we too often forget that it is people who wear work gloves - not neck ties - who keep Los Angeles working," said Bonin.
Last Monday, Bonin began his first day as a councilmember helping pick up trash, filling potholes, serving lunch to seniors and visiting parks, libraries and fire stations in neighborhoods throughout the Westside.
