VA Awards $12 Million to Assist L.A. Homeless
Grantees will provide a range of services that promote housing stability and play a key role in connecting veterans and their family members to VA services such as mental health care and other benefits.

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families announced it's awarding $300 million in grants to help approximately 120,000 homeless and at-risk veterans and their families.
Rep. Henry A. Waxman announced Thursday that more $12 million is awarded to assist Los Angeles-area homeless veterans.
“The epidemic of veterans’ homelessness in our community is a national disgrace,” said Rep. Waxman in a released statement. “These veterans have served our country and risked their lives for their nation. It is a true embarrassment to the country that they remain homeless."
Waxman added that grants the VA awarded will move L.A. closer to ending homelessness among veterans.
