$100K Reward Offered For Info On Gunman Who Shot Hillsborough Officer

The man shot an officer last month in a "brazen attack" on police property, officials said.

HILLSBOROUGH, CA — Hillsborough authorities are offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the man who shot an officer last month in a “brazen attack” on police property, officials said.

The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. Feb. 22, when the officer was struck by gunfire in the back parking lot of the police department in the 1600 block of Floribunda Avenue, according to authorities. The officer returned fire and the shooter fled on foot, police said.

The officer was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and was expected to make a full recovery, police said at the time.

Police do not know if the shooter was wounded in the exchange, authorities said.

The officer described the shooter as a man in his mid-20s to mid-30s with medium-dark hair and a light complexion, according to police, who said the man was about 165 pounds and 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and dark jeans, armed with a gun that was partially concealed in a sweatshirt, police said.

Authorities are hoping to talk to people who may have seen suspicious activity between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Feb. 22 around the Floribunda Avenue facility, according to police, who said residents and businesses with surveillance footage from that time are asked to review the recordings and share relevant material with officials.
