Burlingame PD Cites 2 Drivers During DUI Checkpoint
Out of more than 900 drivers screened during the checkpoint, two were cited for non-DUI offenses.

BURLINGAME, CA — A recent DUI checkpoint in Burlingame led to two citations, but neither were for impaired driving, according to police.
The checkpoint was in place between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Aug. 25 along California Drive, near Carmelita Avenue. During that time, police said officers screened 941 vehicles. Out of the bunch, two drivers were cited for driving without a valid license, police said.
The department selects checkpoint areas based on previous impaired-driving crashes. Funds for the operations are provided through state grants funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
