You'll have an opportunity to roll up their sleeves and receive hands-on training about techniques for sustainable gardening from Filoli gardeners at a free program on Saturday, May 3, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Filoli Historic House and Garden in Woodside. Entry to Filoli will be free, and volunteers will be welcome to stay afterward to tour the house and garden.

Only 30 spaces are available. Register at https://DiginDirtFiloli.eventbrite.com.

Presented by the Citizens Environmental Council, the “Dig in the Dirt” program will permit volunteers to work side by side with Filoli Horticulture Team members to weed and mulch the Formal Garden and prepare beds for summer. Volunteers will also learn how to choose sustainable plants and techniques for maintaining a water-wise garden.
