Drivers should take care to park in well-lit, highly visible locations, and make sure to hit that lock button.

Most burglars won’t go through the trouble of breaking in to a car without the suggestion of a reward for their efforts, like a purse or laptop bag left on a seat. Make sure there are no visible valuable items in the car. If the burglar can’t see anything worth taking, chances are he or she will move on to another car.
