Officer Shot In Hillsborough Police Department Parking Lot: HPD

An officer was hospitalized after being shot in the parking lot of Hillsborough Police Department on Saturday afternoon, the agency said.

HILLSBOROUGH, CA — An officer was shot Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of the Hillsborough Police Department on Floribunda Avenue, the agency wrote in a Facebook post.

The shooting happened just before 4 p.m., according to ABC 7 News.

A shelter-in-place advisory was issued after the shooting as law enforcement searched for the shooter, who remained at large, the Burlingame Police Department, which responded to the scene, wrote in a Facebook post.

Those living in the area of Floribunda Avenue and El Camino Real were told to stay indoors and lock all doors and windows, police said.

The officer was shot by a suspect who entered the rear lot of the police building, HPD said.

The victim was brought to a hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

In addition to Hillsborough and Burlingame police, members of the South San Francisco and Daly City police departments, as well the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office were assisting at the scene on Saturday evening, ABC 7 reported.
