Peninsula Cat Finds A Home After 3 Years At Shelter
Asimov, a 13-year-old cat, was finally adopted last weekend.

BURLINGAME, CA -- A 13-year-old cat that spent nearly three years at the Peninsula Humane Society was finally adopted last weekend. Name after the famous writer Isaac Asimov, the cat was relinquished to the shelter in July 2015 after her owner lost housing, the nonprofit said.
The cat received national media attention after a the animal blog, The Dodo, published an article last year detailing the need to find Asimov a new home. The blog caught the attention of the author's daughter, Robyn Asimov, who offered help to find the cat a loving home, the nonprofit said.
“We are so delighted Asimov has been adopted after such a long time waiting at our shelter,” said Peninsula Humane Society spokeswoman Buffy Martin Tarbox. “For nearly three years, this spirited senior orange tabby was holding out hope that she would be adopted into a new and loving home, and her day finally came! Our staff and volunteers were so excited we had a mini celebration party at our shelter when Asimov left the building heading for her new home.”
