Peninsula Package Thief Sought, Police Say

SAN MATEO, CA — Police are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect in a San Mateo package theft last weekend.

At about 9 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to an apartment building in the 1500 block of Lago Street in order to investigate the theft. Security video footage shows the suspect returning to the building after allegedly casing the front doors, looking for packages, according to San Mateo police.

The suspect appears to be a male between 15 and 25 years old who was wearing a dark New York Yankees hat, a black hooded sweatshirt, a brownish green jacked, blue jeans with decorative holes in the front and white Nike sneakers. He was also holding a skateboard that was black on top and orange underneath, according to police.
