The idea for the Spaghetti Feed came from a couple of YAC members who previously volunteered at My New Red Shoes, an organizations that provides clothing and shoes to underprivileged children for the first day of school. The organization discontinued what had been an annual Spaghetti dinner, so the girls came up with a plan to continue the event, while simultaneously benefitting the Burlingame Youth Scholarship Fund. The two groups split Wednesday night's profits 50/50.
The event highlighted local performers--including a musical trio from Burlingame High School, the Millbrae Dance Academy, Burlingame Intermediate School Cheerleaders and Peninsula Gymnastics--a raffle and plenty of food donated from Burlingame eateries.
