Police Blotter: A Strange Jogger and Suspicious Raccoon

The following information was supplied by the Burlingame Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday July 2

12:32 a.m. There were reports of a possible suspicious person trying to get in a screen door on the 100 block of Highland Avenue. The area was checked and a raccoon turned out to be the culprit.

11:05 a.m. A car window was smashed and a wallet and other property were stolen on the 700 block of Airport Boulevard. The theft occurred overnight.

6:15 p.m. A possibly drunk woman was jumping in and out of traffic at Burlingame Avenue and Primrose Road.

12:54 p.m. A mother was concerned about the father of her son giving a haircut to the boy on the 900 block of El Camino Real.

1:47 p.m. Juveniles were throwing water balloons at passing cars at Broadway and Cortez Avenue.

4:59 p.m. A residential burglary occurred on the 2600 block of Summit Drive. Entry was made through a rear sliding door while the resident was on vacation.

8:10 p.m. A dog was running around chasing people at Laguna Avenue and Mills Avenue.

8:12 p.m. A woman called from her work to inform the police that her daughter was at home and might be smoking marijuana. The daughter was located and it was found there was no merit to the accusations. Her brother made up the story to get his sister in trouble.

Thursday, June 30

10:32 a.m. A person was standing on a water tower on the 2800 block of Rivera Drive. A contractor was on the scene with approval.

11:55 a.m. A suspicious man with a duffle bag was doing push ups in front of a jewelry store on the 200 block of Lorton Avenue. He was gone when police arrived.

1:43 p.m. A caller reported a jogger acting strange on the 1100 block of Killarney Lane. Police contacted the jogger, who said he was venting energy.

Wednesday, June 29

12:02 a.m. A resident saw two subjects with flashlights in his backyard on the 1500 block of Columbus Avenue. They were gone when police arrived.

2:13 p.m. A subject threatened to damage an ex-friend's car over money issues on the 2100 block of Trousdale Drive.

3:57 p.m. A woman reported possible vandalism to her plants on the 1400 block of Castillo Avenue. Police saw no vandalism and advised her to talk to her gardener.
