Police Blotter: Bees Swarm and Woman Locked in Bathroom

Tuesday, June 7

10:16 a.m. A person reportedly passed out in a vehicle on the 700 block of Linden Avenue. The subject had fallen asleep while waiting for a friend at summer school.

2:10 p.m. A swarm of bees were found near the elementary school on the 700 bock of Paloma Avenue. A beekeeper was notified and 98 percent of the bees had been contained.

7:24 p.m. A 50-gallon water tank was stolen from the 800 block of Malcolm Road.

Wednesday

9:28 a.m. An Asian male wearing a red baseball cap and driving a silver Toyota is suspected of stealing recyclables on the 1500 block of Eastmoor Road.

12:16 p.m.  A resident backing her car out of her driveway had a cigarette thrown at her car from another vehicle speeding around her on the 400 block of Bloomfield Road.

7:20 p.m. A male and female were arguing and throwing things around on the 700 block of Paloma Avenue.

Thursday

6:53 a.m. Hotel management staff on the 700 block of Airport Boulevard got in an argument with a guest whose dog was running loose throughout the hotel property. 

12:38 p.m. A resident complained of cotton from his neighbor's cotton tree being blown all over his yard on the 1500 block of Howard Avenue.

3:23 p.m. A bicyclist reportedly rode very quickly away from a residence at Sebastian Drive and Trousdale Drive. Contact was made with the homeowner who said the bicyclist is her son.

Friday

12:13 p.m. A woman walking with her child in a stroller on the 100 block of Victoria Road was bitten by a small dog.

2:57 p.m. A resident on the 1100 block of Oxford Road reported his neighbor's contractors were dumping debris on to his yard.

3:22 p.m. Two subjects were trying to break a bicycle lock on the 1200 block of California Drive. It turned out the bike belonged to one of the subjects, who had forgotten the lock combination.

Saturday

4:27 p.m. A woman was locked in a bathroom on the 2300 block of Trousdale Drive. The fire department was called, but the woman found a key in the meantime and was able to get out.

8:25 p.m. A report was given regarding parents allowing their young children to run around on the street on the 1800 block of El Camino Real.

10:21 p.m. Suspicious activity was reported when a man threw a bag into the bushes at Broadway and Cabrillo Avenue. He returned five minutes later to retrieve the bag and drove off in a Honda Civic.
