Police Blotter: Loud Clapping and Bench Napping

Saturday, July 16

5:39 a.m. There was a report of water in the street at El Camino Real and Fairfield Road. The water was coming from a drain.

6:28 p.m. Juveniles were playing at a construction site on the 1500 block of Balboa Way and climbing on the roof.

11:16 p.m. Loud laughing and clapping was reported on the 1100 block of Broadway. It was checked and police determined the volume was normal.

Sunday, July 17

7:55 a.m. A resident dropped his or her keys down an elevator shaft on the 1000 block of Cadillac Way.

5:55 p.m. A subject was sleeping on a bench and fell off on the 1200 block of Burlingame Avenue. He was ok.

9:50 p.m. A group of subjects were gathered behind a closed business on the 800 block of Airport Boulevard. They were sent on their way.

Monday, July 18

2:05 a.m. A resident reported her house was shaking on the 1200 block of Broadway. Police found the shaking was caused by an unknown subject trying to break in through a side door.

4:52 p.m. A bicycle was stolen from the 1200 block of Oak Grove Avenue.

8:18 p.m. Three juveniles were riding skateboards while holding on to the car door of a silver BMW on the 200 block of California Drive.

Tuesday, July 19

12:12 a.m. Four or five subjects were outside making noise on the 300 block of Rollins Road and were told to go back inside.

6:35 p.m. Smoke was seen coming from an apartment on the 1400 block of Floribunda Avenue. There was no fire, but the BBQ inside was smoking.

7:41 p.m. A stray dog was reported on the 1900 block of Broadway.

Wednesday, July 20

11:23 a.m. Two cars were rented by different people. Both returned the cars on the 1000 block of Carolan Avenue. Later both vehicles and sets of keys were reported missing.

3:49 p.m. A resident found a suspicious container in her yard on the 300 block of Peninsula Avenue. She was advised to talk to her gardener about the container.

5:40 p.m. A brush fire was reported on the 400 block of El Camino Real. An unknown subject threw a cigarette that landed in some leaves. Juveniles saw the small fire and extinguished it with water bottles.
