Preliminary Hearing Set For Accused Killer

The man accused of killing his roommate in Burlingame will have a hearing in May.

The Burlingame man accused of fatally striking his 70-year-old roommate in the head with a blunt object, resulting in a 5-inch fracture in the roommate’s skull, will have his preliminary hearing May 30.

As reported by the San Mateo Daily Journal, Lawrence Arthur Hoffman, 64, pleaded not guilty to the death of Joe Consentino, and will find out in May whether he’ll be on trial for murder.

Consentino’s body was found inside his Burlingame apartment in early December covered by blankets with an air freshener nearby. Police arrested Hoffman in Glendale, Calif. after being tipped off by an acquaintance of Hoffman’s about the possible murder. They traced his cell phone to a Glendale hotel.
