Seven Residential Burglaries in Four Months in Burlingame

In light of recent residential burglaries on Los Altos Drive and Arguello Drive, the Burlingame Police Department offers tips to keep your home safe.

Seven residential burglaries occurred in the last four months in the areas of Arguello Drive and Los Altos Drive in Burlingame. The Burlingame Police Department has found trends in these burglaries and is offering tips on how to stay safe.

These crimes primarily take place between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Suspects knock on the front door. If no one answers, the suspect tends to walk to the back of the home and gain entrance using a crow bar.

On May 24, , resulting in the arrest of a woman who was seen leaving the scene.

The following tips come from the Burlingame Police Department on how to deter residential burglaries:

1) Secure all your doors and windows before you leave your residence, even if you only plan on being away from home for a short time.

2) Set the alarm if you have one.

3) Be aware of people who knock on your door, particularly when they ask for someone who does not live in your home.

4) Be particularly aware of solicitors who come to your door, as this a common ruse to determine if anyone is home.
