SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Officers from law enforcement agencies across San Mateo County will participate in the "Saturation Traffic Enforcement Program" (STEP) on Tuesday, an effort designed to improve traffic safety and driver awareness in known trouble spots.

According to Burlington police, eighteen officers will be part of Tuesday's operation, deploying within the sheriff's North Fair Oaks and Woodside jurisdictions from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The collaborative nature of the program means residents may notice police officers from elsewhere in the county enforcing violations in their community.

STEP counts several agencies among its ranks, including the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, the California Highway Patrol, the Burlingame Police Department, the Menlo Park Police Department, and the Redwood City Police Department.
