Week Ahead: Leaf Blowers and Streetscape

Take a look ahead at what's going on in Burlingame this week.

What's on tap for this week? Keep an eye out for these events and stories this week. We'll be there to cover them.

  • On Monday at 5:30 p.m., residents are invited to join the third Community Workshop for the Burlingame Avenue Streetscape Improvement Project. The meeting will take place in the Lane Community Room.
  • The Burlingame City Council meets Monday at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers. Council members will discuss proposed changes to the leaf blower ordinance, as well as the Highway 101/Poplar interchange improvement project.
  • At 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Cuernavaca Park, representatives of the State Department of Forestry will present Burlingame with the Tree City USA award.
  • The City Council will hold a budget session on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Lane Community Room.
  • The Traffic Safety and Parking Commission meets Thursday at 7 p.m. in City Hall.
  • On Saturday, members of Burlingame’s community theater group, Acting Out and About, will join actors from Stanford University and Academy of Arts University for a presentation of A Mutual Onus, a play about women’s suffering in developing countries. The play will been shown in the Lane Community Room at 1 p.m.
