Week Ahead: Spotlight Shines on Democrats and Burlingame Students

What's on tap for this week? Keep an eye out for these events and stories this week. We'll be there to cover them.
- The Burlingame City Council meets Monday at 7 p.m. There will be a public hearing on the adoption of a leaf blower ordinance and Councilmembers are expected to give their feedback on Caltrain electrification.
- The Burlingame Library Trustees meets Tuesday in the Burlingame Public Library at 5:30 p.m.
- On Tuesday, The San Mateo County Democratic Party and the Hillsborough Democratic Club are hosting a Spotlight on the Candidates event at Barrelhouse at 6 p.m. Residents can get to know their Democratic representatives in San Mateo County and Sacramento.
- There will be a CPR class Thursday at Fire Station 34 at 9 a.m. Click here to register.
- There will be a job hunting workshop at the Burlingame Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
- On Thursday, “Parca on the Avenue” is back. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., participating vendors on Burlingame Avenue will donate 15 percent of sales to Parca, a local nonprofit benefitting children and adults with developmental disabilities.
- On Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m., Burlingame Elementary students will present Bullies Anonymous at . The play deals with bullying and teaches important lessons.
- Burlingame Intermediate School presents Hairspray on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. Visit http://bi-bsd-ca.schoolloop.com/hairspray for tickets.
- Shakespeare on Tour is presenting Macbeth at 12 p.m. Saturday at the Burlingame Public Library. There will be a second performance at 2:30 p.m.
