Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center Set To Open Fall 2022
After nearly two years closed, the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center is set to reopen thanks to new funding for essential repairs.

CALABASAS, CA — The Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center is set to reopen in late fall 2022 after receiving much needed funds for essential repairs, the cities announced on Friday.
Congressman Ted Lieu helped secure a $1 million federal grant for the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center, according to the city of Calabasas. More locally, Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl helped the center secure an additional $1.01 million in grants to help with the necessary roof repairs.
The fate of the community center has been called into question after significant revenue losses due to pandemic closures. After being closed for nearly two years, it was determined the facility would need maintenance and repairs totaling over $1 million to reopen, according to the city of Agoura Hills.

Agoura Hills and Calabasas each contributes $50,000 to the center every year, and the center recently received a $166,000 grant from the Regional Park and Open Space District, which wouldn't nearly cover the $1 million price tag.
The center is expected to reopen in phases based on construction, the cities said in a news release.
