Bay Laurel Gets a Very Little But Very Powerful Library

Students can come take a book and leave a book for others at their leisure.

Bay Laurel Elementary School cut the ribbon today on its new Little Free Library.

Bay Laurel is the first school in the Las Virgenes Unified School District to participate in this national program.

A generous donation from private family paid for the installation of the library at the front of the school where students can come take a book and leave a book for others at their leisure.

This library was hand built by the family.

The goal of the program is to enhance literacy, the joy of reading and the power of community. The box was creatively decorated and painted by Bay Laurel’s new principal, Jackie O’Sullivan.
