Britney Spears On Why She Left Calabasas: 'I Like What I Like'
Spears took a reported $1.7 million loss when she sold her Calabasas house just eight months after buying it.

CALABASAS, CA — Britney Spears took a reported $1.7 million loss when she left her Estates at the Oaks mansion last month — just eight months after she bought it. Now, she's offering details about why she made the move from Calabasas.
Spears bought the 11,650-square-foot estate last year for $12 million, according to Dirt. Complete with imported onyx details, a 33-foot foyer, arched hallways and bespoke chandeliers, it was all just too much house for Spears.
In a detailed missive on Instagram, the pop star reflected on her life priorities after successfully exiting her conservatorship in 2021.

"I get it, most people in Los Angeles with money have those lavish over the top homes with a pool that's connected to the kitchen and into the damn river," she wrote.
"I know the essence of living in one's home is by giving it good intention and it will create the mood or ambiance … I've been into some of what is considered the best homes and they were not my cup of tea."

She continues, writing that she was happy to go back to her "normal bedroom," in the Thousand Oaks home she bought in 2015.
"I like what I like and that's okay," she wrote. "l’m in love with the life I have built for myself !!!"
Her TO pad isn't exactly a downgrade. The 13,264-square-foot hilltop house sits on 21 acres and has 5 bedrooms and 8 baths, according to Dirt.
