Calabasas City Council Names New Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem

CALABASAS, CA — The Calabasas City Council held its annual reorganization meeting Wednesday — Alicia Weintraub was named Mayor and James R. Bozajian was named Mayor Pro Tempore.

The mayor is selected by the City Council every year from one of its members for a one-year term, and serves as the official representative of the City for all legislative and ceremonial purposes, the City of Calabasas press release said.

"The mayor is the presiding officer at City Council meetings and executes legal instruments and documents," the City of Calabasas said. "In the event of the mayor’s absence, the mayor pro tem fills the role until the mayor returns."

The next Calabasas City Council meeting is at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, in the City Council chambers at the Calabasas Civic Center, at 100 Civic Center Way in Calabasas.
