CALABASAS, CA — Buy a sandwich and help someone in need out: win-win. On Wednesday, Jersey Mike’s sub shops across the Southland will donate 100 percent of their sales to Cancer for College, a charity that provides college scholarships to cancer survivors.

The initiative is part of the company’s 14th annual Day of Giving, when 2,500 Jersey Mike’s locations around the country are expected to give over $20 million to local charities. Since the Month of Giving began in 2011, the chain has raised more than $67 million, according to a company news release. Stores have also been collecting donations for their chosen charities for the entire month.

Over 200 stores across southern and central California will donate all of their sales Wednesday to Cancer for College. Local locations include stores in Calabasas, Woodland Hills and Westlake Village.
