CALABASAS, CA -- With the deadline to file taxes just around the corner, the state of California decided to shame some deadbeat taxpayers.
Twice a year, in April and October, the state Franchise Tax Board publishes a list of the top tax dodgers in the state, and three Calabasas residents are on the list.
In its list of the "Top 500 Delinquent Taxpayers," the FTB includes individuals as well as businesses that have not paid their taxes. Collectively these deadbeats owe the state $266 million in income taxes.
