A family found Chopper wandering alone in the desert with no identification tags. They kept him for a month, but decided to relinquish him because they had too many dogs. He was kept outside for that entire time and he began digging because of boredom and barking for attention, issues that are not problematic at the shelter.
He is a neutered Chihuahua that is approximately 7-years-old and is up to date on his shots.

He has been to a private veterinarian due to concern with the condition of his nose. The biopsy indicated that he has non-communicable bacteria with the fancy medical name of muscoid pyoderma for which he was treated with an antibiotic. There is a small possibility that it may occasionally flare up again but with some sunscreen applied when it’s sunny, it may not. He also had his teeth cleaned so he is ready to go.
He is the perfect size or an apartment, house or condo and requires very little; a warm bed indoors, good nutrition and an attentive family. That’s it!
