City Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting

Calabasas has once again been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association.

The City of Calabasas and its Chief Financial Officer Dr. Gary J. Lysik have been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the City’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. 

It is the eighth consecutive year that the city has received the such an honor, the association’s ultimate form of recognition for governmental accounting and financial reporting.

“All of us at the City of Calabasas take great pride in our sound financial position and the transparency of our public reporting,” said Calabasas Mayor Fred Gaines. “This national recognition is a great tribute to our CFO Dr. Lysik and his dedicated staff.”

An impartial panel judged that the city's report met the highest standards of financial reporting, finding the Calabasas “proficient” in each of the 17 grading categories with zero deficiencies reported.

The GFOA is a non-profit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government financial professionals throughout the United States and Canada.
