Sprint has applied to make changes to two cell phone facilities in Calabasas neighborhoods.

Alcatel-Lucent, which is representing Sprint, filed a Wireless Telecommunication Facility application on Feb. 7, according to Calabasas planning documents.

The first application is for a facility on Paul Revere Drive at Pickney Drive in Calabasas. Sprint hopes to expand the existing concrete pad and remove the existing three-foot cabinet and replace it with a five-foot cabinet, according to the application.

In 2011, the Calabasas City Council enacted a moratorium on approving cellphone tower applications while drafting a Wireless Telecommunications Ordinance.

The ordinance established how far from various zones in the city that service providers are allowed to build wireless facilities that could come in various forms, including poles and underground facilities.
