CALABASAS, CA — A wine and liquor store owner was the target of a violent armed robbery in Calabasas Thursday, and police are looking for the brazen thieves who made off with a $1,000 bottle of wine.

The robbery took place at Malibu Liquor and Wine in the 4900 block of Las Virgenes Road shortly after 8 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The store's security camera captured the incident.

In the video shared with KTLA, the thief seems to be looking for a specific high-end liquor. He appears to stick his head out the entrance to the store seeking direction from an accomplice. Then he grabs a trashcan to use as a stool and reaches for a case on a top shelf. The stores owner tries to stop him. As they grapple, the suspect pulls a knife from his waistband and waves it at the owner. He lobs the weapon toward the owner and flees out the front door where two accomplices are waiting in a get-away vehicle, KTLA reported.
