$476,000 Award Will Fund Santa Cruz County Road Projects
The funds are being awarded through Caltrans' Local Partnership Program.

From Santa Cruz County: The County of Santa Cruz is pleased to announce a $476,000 award for pavement rehabilitation and overlay along Granite Creek Road and Branciforte Drive.
The funds, from the 2017 Road Repair and Accountability Act, or SB1, will fund reconstruction of 1.85 miles of Granite Creek Road (from PM 0.56 to Scotts Valley City Limits) and 0.62 miles of Branciforte Drive (from PM 2.4 to Granite Creek Road). This is a primary route conveying vehicular traffic from Scotts Valley to the Branciforte Drive corridor, and benefits residents and emergency vehicle access, as well as users of DeLaveaga Park, Happy Valley School and Scotts Valley School District, Happy Valley Conference Center, the Mystery Spot and more.
The funds are being awarded through Caltrans' Local Partnership Program. In addition to funding road repair, transit and active transportation projects and grants at the State level, SB1 provides $18.7 billion in new funding for roads and road maintenance to California's local governments over the next 10 years, including $115 million to Santa Cruz County's cities and unincorporated area. In Santa Cruz County, the funds are helping rebuild local roads following the winter storms of 2017, serving as a local match to State and federal emergency repair dollars. Due in part to SB1, several priority road repair projects have already been completed, including Valencia Road, Soquel-San Jose Road, Glenwood Drive, Soquel Drive in Aptos Village and more.
