Capitola Man Accused Of Manufacturing Assault Weapons

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A Capitola resident was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his home on suspicion of possessing, manufacturing and distributing assault weapons, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office. Around 2 p.m., the sheriff's Gang Enforcement Team served a search warrant at a home in the 1700 block of 48th Avenue, sheriff's officials said.
There, they allegedly found 10 guns including several illegal assault weapons in the process of being built.
Tools and parts used to build assault weapons were also found and seized for evidence, sheriff's officials said.
Seth Niles, 43, was arrested on suspicion of possessing, manufacturing and distributing assault weapons and conspiracy, according to the sheriff's office. Niles posted bail after he was booked into the county jail.
